Simple Strategies to Speed Up Your PC

For this Free Friday i wanted to focus on freedom from the stress inducing tightness in the neck muscles caused as your teeth clench waiting for your PC to crunch the numbers on your latest odds making efforts.

More seriously, when PC's slow down our efficiencies slow down too and our will to work evaporates each moment we wait for our computers to just do it already.

No one likes a sluggish computer: not a business owner; not an employee; and certainly not a client waiting on follow-up.

Wouldn't you like a way to avoid the drag of a slow PC?

This potential for drag is why you should always be on the lookout for signs of a laboring PC like increasingly longer loading times for websites and documents, as well as new strategies and remedies to restore speed.

Here's a list of things you should be doing on an ongoing basis to be freer from stress.
  • Checking for and removing Spyware, Malware, and other harmful viruses through Malwarebytes is one of the first assessments you should run.
  • Run a check for errors on your disk with a command and reboot.
  • Defragment regularly, whether by manual or automatic means.
  • Make sure you have at least 1GB more memory than you think you do.
For defragrmenting there is a bunch of software outside of what comes installed with Windows. There's even some pretty good freeware online that's worth the price. So although you can use the built-in defrag tool included in Windows, but for even better reorganization of your system, try Defraggler, or similar customized, downloadable tools to pick up the pieces and get your unit back up to speed.

You can download it here:

Happy Free Fridays.
Thanks for reading. Jason.
