Mobilize and Organize Your Business Card Library with WorldCard
How many business cards do you typically collect at a given conference, trade show, or networking event?
How well do you organize and integrate them into your existing contacts without Outlook or some other CRM system?
With the days of the classic rotary rolodex falling behind us, it is ideal that we manage our new and existing directory of professional connections as we are now managing most elements of our lives; that is, accessible by a couple of clicks on our mobile devices.
Certainly, given the number of new prospects and reciprocal business connections I collect for my web design and SEO company in just a week or two, I appreciate a streamlined app for loading cards onto my phone
There are actually quite a few of these programs available, and we liked WorldCard Mobile the best.
It works on Android and iPhone by the way.
Through the use of OCR technology, WorldCard allows you to record the text and images on individual business cards by taking a quick snapshot. Simply place the card on a flat surface in front of you, position the camera horizontally or vertically depending on the layout the card (horizontal is most commonly used), and click. There are retake and rotation options in the event the image lacks desired clarity or positioning, as well as arrow buttons for editing.
WorldCard reads seven different languages, and can be commanded to translate with the simple “Recognize” command. Drag and adjust blue box fields to designate the essential contact info in the card and export it to your contacts. You can save and exchange each card’s data via iTunes file sharing and even connect to a new contact through Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter.
There is an additional enhanced WorldCard Contacts App that lets you generate custom groups and initiate instant phone and SMS message communication. The standard version of the app costs $5.99 in the iPhone App Store and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and Android technology. Visit their site today.
