The Perfect Homepage
Client Spotlight Uses Partner Logos to Build Trust (#3) - UnitedLayer.com
Upon looking at your homepage, a visitor should be able to easily determine what you do, who you do it for, and why you are the best at it. A simple way to display all three of these aspects of your business is through the inclusion of partner logos. Today, we are interviewing Peter Preuss, who runs United Layer, a colocation hosting company.
Preuss acknowledges that regardless of what specifics he is offering, chances are he is not the only colocation provider out there. The question is, how will he show his prospective clients that he is providing the best colocation available to host their server?
"It is necessary to demonstrate your credibility," says Preuss, "as your own claims in plain text are not always adequate proof. We needed striking and recognizable partner logos."
For us, partner logos are striking visual messaging. They help us gain a potential client’s trust by showing who else has trusted us and benefited. Logos are especially well suited to companies that specialize in services for other companies, like recruitment specialists, document scanners, and in our case, colocation providers. The logos of our existing partners and clients show that not just individual people but whole business entities will attest that we are the best at what we do. The more recognizable brand the better, as it shows we’ve gained the trust of long established and successful names.
United Layer contains a Client Spotlight to indicate which major brands have entrusted us with their servers. If a company’s server is not properly maintained, their website can crash and lose them thousands of dollars of business in just a couple hours of downtime. Nowadays, no business can afford this, least of all a renowned one like Diamond Foods, Flixster, or Burning Man, all of which are clients of United Layer.
In addition, look at the diversity of the Client Spotlight: we have an online movie community; a massive desert art and music event; and a well-known packaged food manufacturer that has existed since 1912. The presence of these partner logos emphasizes that any company of any industry that values their website’s functionality needs the server hosting and support of United Layer.
So to recap, here are 3 main reasons we think the display of partner logos demonstrates value:
1. Gives you credibility by showing that trustworthy brands trust yours.
2. Displays diversity of your clientele.
3. Shows not only why you're good, but why you're the best.
