Notability Brings Usability to Your iPad Note-Taking

How many times have you jotted down important information from a meeting only to lose track of it in the pages of an already disordered and scribble-laden legal pad? In the increasingly fast-paced Google business world, as well as in many of our kids’ academic institutions, old-fashioned pen-and-paper note-taking is giving way to electronic tablet-based organization tools like the iPad, Kindle, and others. Consequently, you have your choice of note-taking apps for your reminders, ideas, and projects. However, choosing one that’s faulty or complicated to learn can just generate aggravation and inefficiency instead of productivity and convenience. That is why when it comes to iPad note-taking like the incredibly straightforward but highly versatile Notability.

While my own Los Angeles website design company has successfully supported and managed its clients through a relatively paper-free system, other business owners and their colleagues are newer to gathering and ordering information electronically and need the speed and simplicity of an app like Notability. This app, which has been given ratings for both professional and academic use, enables users to instantly group notes by subject for easy one-touch reference and sharing at any time.

Once Notability has been added and opened, tap Compose to enter a note along with its desired subject; you can find it by subject or with the Search function if you know exactly what you’re looking for. Not only are there standard options like adding bullets and changing font choices, you can also record audio, insert images, and even draw charts, diagrams, and other illustrations that can. You can even add a screenshot of a website or other online visual aid with Insert Web Clip. The notes you create will exist in a cloud so they can be easily exported through email, Dropbox, iTunes, or via a server. If this still sounds a lot to get used to, don’t worry as Notability has a detailed and user-praised Help section as well as unlimited Undo and Redo capabilities.

Notability is available in version 4.0 for $ .99 through the iTunes store.
