Remedy Your Disarranged PC Desktop with Free Software called Fences
Having problems finding files on your computer?
Do you remember the last time you really looked at your PC desktop?
Or rather the last time you attempted to because it is so cluttered with icons in disarray?
While you might feel confident that you know your computer like the back of your hand, it is only going to get progressively harder to keep track of which files and programs are stored in which locations.
This can facilitate disorganization and delays in both your professional and personal correspondences, not to mention that anyone who gets a look at your screen may develop doubts about your managerial savvy.
This Free Friday, we’ll discuss Fences, a cost-free program that simplifies technological housekeeping.
Fences gets its name from how it gathers and groups your desktop icons into groups that appear within small boxes or “fences” that are easier for you to pull up, hide, and open as you need to.
What makes this download ideal for arranging your desktop icons - aside from its being free - is that it gives you customizable features.
When you apply Fences to your files, images, programs, and links, you will be able to drag, drop, and resize your fences so that organization comes more easily to you. You have the option of either manual and automatic settings and can find whatever item you need with a scroll bar.
Want to hide your icons and shortcuts? Just double click, and even elect to exclude certain fences from being hidden. At any time you can revise the entire arrangement of your layout, change its color scheme, and take snapshots for later reference.
And btw I want to say sorry to MAC users because Fences is just compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7 operating systems.
Now the reason I'm sharing this today isn't because I am so disoriented when I look at my own PC. I mean it's definitely tough keeping track of files and running a magazine subscription company part of the day and then a web site design and SEO company another part of the day and then working late in the afternoon on our eCommerce and CMS deployments (sorry to be so technical).
The reason I put Fences up today is because I constantly visit clients and prospective clients and I see how their desktops are literally a mess. I can't say anything of course because they all have their own systems and ways of doing things.
So the best I could do now is subtly suggest a solution called Fences.
As my dad said to me after my bar-mitzvah, you are on your own now if you care.
Enjoy.
